Freyberg’s robotics team win trip to Dallas
Competing at the Lower North Island Vex robotics competition in Wellington, Freyberg’s
seven man team beat out thirteen other robots to place first and qualify for
the international competition in Texas April 23-25.
After winning three out of four Manawatu regional competitions called scrimmages, Freyberg took two robots down to Wellington for the Lower North Island Scrimmage. One of these robots had received a complete reprogram the night before, and was significantly under-tested. However it was this robot that was eventually paired with Rangitoto college and won the grand final.
Supervising Teacher, Maire Borthwick was proud of the students and wanted to say “a big thank you to Tenix without whom, we wouldn’t be able to compete”.
