2009 Athletics Finals

The Massey Athletics Track was filled with flags, face paint, megaphones, running, jumping and throwing for Freyberg's Athletics Finals. The best Freyberg athletes from Athletics Preliminaries competed for House Points and House pride on a beautiful Palmerston North day.

Students dressed as a Fire Engine, Pokemon, Ninja Turtles, Power Rangers, The Hulk, Clowns, Sailors, Mechanics, Angels, and two boys simply painted themselves red in support of their house.

Seniors Andy Kruy and Paige Lowe dominated, winning numerous events and disciplines. In front of a large crowd, Andy came within 1cm of breaking the school Senior Boys Long Jump record. Stacey Gunn went one better, breaking the girls Long Jump record.

The Staff v Student 4x100m relay was very close, with boys 100m champion Andy Kruy overtaking Mr Mills only 15m from the finish line.
