High Distinctions in Australian Maths and Science
Australian Mathematics Competition
Not one but two students achieved the impressive feat of scoring a "High
Distinction" in the Australian Mathematics Competition this year.
Year 12 students, Chris Handley and Max Betteridge (pictured), both managed to achieve
the feat placing them in the top 2% of entrants in the prestigious
competition.

Other high achievers include Mark Thorn, Max Annear-Henderson, Charlotte Frith, Joseph Dymond, Jared Stevens, Michael Thurston and Stasha Bakker.
ICAS Science Competition
This competition is run by the University of New South Wales, and is entered by top students from 10 different southern hemisphere countries. Year 10 Stasha Bakker managed to score a "High Distinction" in this competition, placing her in the top 1% of entrants in her year level. Head of Science Craig Steed called it an "Outstanding Achievement". Others to do well in this test were Stasha's sister - Lise Bakker, Harris Nilsen, and Bill Innes-Drewery.
